Maybe in Another Life
Incase you also wonder often, If X thing had have happened how would your life be?
I recently read a book called, “The Midnight Library” The poem below is inspired by that. I constantly wonder, what would my life be, if X thing would have happened. Honestly now all of it seems futile. Incase the things that happened, wouldn’t have happened. My life wouldn’t be the one I have today, I wouldn’t be the one I am today. So a few words on the same:
“Maybe in another life, I’d walk a different road,
Choose a path untraveled, where unknown dreams unfold.
In a world of different choices, where fate has cast its dice,
I’d be someone else, beneath a separate sky’s guise.
Maybe in another life, I’d make a brand-new start,
Opt for distant lands, with a restless, wandering heart.
A world of endless wonder, where every sunrise gleams,
In a life of constant motion, chasing distant dreams.
Maybe in another life, I’d follow a different quest,
Pursue a higher learning, give my mind its test.
In the halls of knowledge, where ambitions freely soar,
I’d seek out wisdom’s treasures, always yearning for more.
Maybe in another life, a different love would bloom,
A different heartbeat’s rhythm, in a separate room.
A world where hearts entwine, and lives are intertwined,
In a dance of fate and chance, where love is redefined.
Maybe in another life, I’d take a different chance,
Step into a new beginning, where possibilities enhance.
A place where fresh starts beckon, and new paths intertwine,
A life of exploration, where hopes and dreams align.
Maybe in another life, old passions would remain,
In echoes of a melody, or a dancer’s graceful reign.
A world where joy and rhythm never fade away,
Where every step and movement, in endless dance, would sway.
Maybe in another life, my roots would stay the same,
In a familiar place, where every corner holds a name.
A life where every street is known, and every face is dear,
Where the past and present blend, in a landscape clear.
Maybe in another life, circumstances might shift,
In a world with different chances, where opportunities lift.
A life with varied choices, each one a different hue,
Yet still, a story woven, with threads both old and new.
So maybe in another life, paths would change and weave,
But in this life, I find my way, in dreams I still believe.
Each choice I didn’t make, each road I did not take,
Forms the life I live now, a journey I awake”
Thanks for gifting me this book...I would change nothing about my life because it has you in it!
